Life is enriched with stories. When stories intersect, life begins to take root. The story of Byzanti Horn also intersects with the ancient history of Istanbul. Centuries ago, Istanbul was Constantinople, Nova Roma and Der Saadet, and its first name in its historical process was Byzantium.
The history of the name Byzantion is based on Ancient Greek mythology. According to the legend, Zeus, the god of gods, had a forbidden love affair with the princess Io, who was famous for her beauty. When Zeus' wife, the chief goddess Hera, learned of this love, she was very angry. However, Zeus turned Io into a horned cow to protect her from Hera's wrath. When Hera learned what Zeus had done, she sent a horsefly to haunt Io, who had turned into a cow. While Io was walking long distances with the pain of the bites of the fly sent by Hera to punish her, she hit her head from side to side in pain, separating the soil pieces from each other and creating deep cracks.
Here, the Golden Horn, known as the Golden Horn, was one of these cracks that Io created while writhing in pain. Io, tired and writhing in pain after the long journey, was finally able to get to the shore and gave birth to Zeus' daughter Keroessa. After many years, Keroessa gave birth to the child of Zeus' brother, the sea god Poseidon, in the Golden Horn. This child, who is the source of the story of the Byzanti Horn, descended from the gods, was King Byzas, the founder of the city of Byzantium, which was a dream for some and a hope for others.
